Thanks for sharing. Schiff’s editorial may criticize Peterson’s rhetoric and influence, however it does a poor job of arguing that Peterson is a direct source of alt-right rhetoric. The editorial presents some evidence of his appeal to the alt-right, but it fails to demonstrate that Peterson actively promotes or aligns with the more extreme aspects of alt-right ideology.

That said, the issue I have with the “alt-right” label, is that it originally referred to a fringe movement with associations, like white nationalism, anti-immigration or ideas in opoosition to liberal democratic norms. However, the far-left has expanded the definition to include centrist and liberal critiques of political correctness, identity politics or perspectives that challenge progressive orthodoxies.
