I love your overview. Throughout the West, I’ve been watching liberal culture become illiberal in the name of some utopian vision. Trading free speech for ‘safe speech’ or meritocracy for enforced equality are examples of the slippery slope towards totalitarianism.

I would posit that in the United States, the Republican Party may be the only political party that can be called liberal. But what worries me is the more totalitarian the left gets, the more fascist some factions on the right get.
