I have to push back on your assumptions here. My use of terms like “politically correct” and “identity politics” is not a signal that I’m aligned with some far-right agenda, nor does it make me less reliable in assessing the political spectrum. It’s laughable that any critique of progressive ideologies automatically gets lumped into extremist categories nowadays.
You claim the right has moved so far right that the center has shifted, but the reality is, I haven’t moved. What has shifted is the left, which has embraced critical theory, identity politics, and other divisive ideologies that run counter to classic liberal values. The fact that I challenge those ideas doesn’t suddenly mean I’m part of the “alt-right” or even close.
The irony is thick when people like me are accused of being divisive or inflammatory, all while those same critics weaponize these terms to shut down any legitimate debate. Maybe it’s time to realize that not everyone who questions progressive orthodoxy is some sort of extremist.
